Life Care Plans

Detailed life care plans prepared by Analytic Rehabilitation present a number of parameters to analyze an impaired person's future care costs.  Life care planning by Analytic Rehabilitation may include some of the broad areas suggested below, given the circumstances of the subject person's needs. The report and its contents are prepared according to the information derived from all the resources available at the time the life care plan is assembled. Each life care plan is unique to the individual and their needs that are reasonably certain to be required in the future.

The central feature of the life care plan is the spreadsheet analysis, which sets forth the details pertaining to each cost item. The costs shown are always stated at the full retail price. For instance, there are detail sheets for the following categories. The narrative and the spreadsheet information for the life care plan topics are also coordinated.

Durable Equipment (Including Maintenance) Professional Medical Care (Physicians, Therapists, etc.) Medical Laboratory, (Diagnostic Testing)
Home Care (Nursing, attendant care) Medications Nutritional supplements (TPN, Ensure, Pediasure, etc.)
Consumable Supplies Education, Training Habitation (Home Modifications)
Professional Services (Conservator, Case Manager, etc.) Household Services Skilled Nursing Facility

The spreadsheets are formatted so that each line item is further broken down by decades to demonstrate the anticipated beginning and ending (or decrease and increase) in the cost of a particular need over the impaired person's life expectancy.

Not all Analytic Rehabilitation life care plan spreadsheets require reference to all the categories shown above. In addition to the foregoing, a summary sheet showing the totals from each of the detail sheets is included.  Wage loss analysis/labor market access studies can be done for clients that are seeking occupational information. The basis of the life care plan is the necessity of the particular line item in any one spreadsheet category relative to the impaired person's needs. The standard used by Analytic Rehabilitation in the preparation of life care plans set forth the requirement that future damages of the type that are typically identified in a life care plan must be reasonably certain to be required in the future.

In addition, Analytic Rehabilitation can incorporate all public social service entities, both collateral and non-collateral, to indicate how the cost of the goods and services may be alternatively be funded. Other funding sources, such as subsidized high risk medical insurance, may be included as appropriate. An appendix is included detailing the basis of each of the relevant public social service programs mentioned in the life care plan.
