Comparative Analysis

A Comparative Analysis can be undertaken following Analytic Rehabilitation's reality based approach. Each item of an existing life care plan is reviewed line-by-line, by a rehabilitation counselor with respect to the propriety and cost of the item to meet the provisions set forth in California Civil Instructions (CACI). CACI instructions 3903 a, c and d comprise the basis for the assumption regarding economic damages in all life care plans produced by Analytic Rehabilitation. The instructions set forth the requirement that future damages of the type that are typically identified in a life care plan must be reasonably certain to be required in the future. Suggestions regarding alternative funding sources, collateral and non collateral, are included, by line item, for the existing life care plan.

The intent of the Comparative Analysis is to offer information to satisfy the "necessity" criteria mentioned above. By approaching the problem from a "necessity" point of view, limited available funding may be more effectively utilized to obtain services, supplies, and equipment. With the incorporation of public social service funding sources, the maximum effective use of available resources can be realized.
